With flagship product Mezzanine, Oblong Industries is designing for the future of workplace collaboration, breaking the bounds of current workspaces for greater engagement, discovery, and productivity. As the Lead UI Designer and Art Director, I designed the new “infopresence” features that allowed more remote collaboration, as well as redesigned the rest of the interface and color palette for the TV, web, tablet, and mobile applications. I collaborated with a team of engineers to test the new designs, provided engineering documentation, and worked with the QA team to flag any visual bugs. I also provided art direction to the marketing design team while there, as the only other person with a visual design background on the team. Additionally, there was a great opportunity to speak about my role on the team to a visiting group of girls from Project Scientist.
